Community
The Nurture provision was asked to take part in this project to help build relationships between young people and families with young children. We worked alongside ACE (Action for Caerau and Ely) and Save the Children to do this.
Nurture attended three separate gardens in the local area of Ely and Caerau and helped make it a safe place for local families to go to. The Nurture pupils took part in activities such as planting, weeding, playing with the children as well as starting up a social media presence in relation to the project. They created logos and blogs to help boost their social media and raise awareness.
We attended the gardens once a week, spread out over 3 months. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed getting their hands dirty, whilst creating a safe space for families to go to in their spare time. Not only did it help the families, but it also helped our pupils mix with the local community.
We now have Community Washing Machines available for anyone who needs to use them. Located outside our Sports Building.
Y Caban Bwyd (The Food Cabin) will be open!! This will then continue to be open, once a week for the foreseeable future.
