Cardiff West Community High School

Partnerships

We at Cardiff West CHS are proud to be involved with a number of partnerships.

We would like to share the vision of the Ely & Caerau Learning Partnership, a partnership we have been involved with over the past few years:

'To bring together statutory, voluntary and community groups to discuss local issues, identify barriers to educational attainment and share examples of good practice; developing a more 'joined-up' approach to improve the learning outcomes & well-being of children, young people and families living in the communities of Ely and Caerau.'

Cardiff West CHS has been a part of developing the new community plan for Ely and Caerau. You can find the action plan here: https://www.aceplace.org/community-plan/

A community steering group was formed to help create the community plan. The Ely and Caerau Community Plan was developed together with over 1200 residents, and agreed by the Community Steering Group, representing residents, schools, churches, community groups, charities, South Wales Police and Cardiff Youth Service. They said:

“At every step, this community plan has been co-created with residents of all ages, people who work here, public services and Cardiff Council. Many of the actions are for the council or public services (including local schools and the police) to undertake; some are for local groups and charities to lead on. All of them respond to the needs and ideas shared by the community. Together we have produced a plan that we believe can make a significant positive difference.”

The Community Steering Group will meet in July, October, December and March to hear about the progress across all of the actions and make sure things stay on track.
